Theres a lot of bullshit floating around about a "mothers glow" and the deep spiritual fluffiness of being pregnant. I will tell you right now, I do not miss it one bit.
Part of my problem was being diabetic. Having diabetes and getting pregnant do not mix. Diabetes is a bitch to deal with anyway, but adding hormones to the mix makes blood sugar wildly unstable.
Then of course theres the "scare the shit out of her" session, where they bring out all the pictures of the fat, deformed,and blind babies of mothers who didn't manage their blood sugar.
I wanted to slap the nurse. I was stressed out enough, and then she showed me that?.... Fortunately I picked up a few tricks ..more
